The average driver processes 1,340 pieces of information per minute. No wonder car crashes will soon be the third largest cause of death globally. Join the Science Show's forum on the future of cars and transport, which runs until July. We want to hear your ideas, any research you've worked on or know about – even your predictions for car travel in the future. Science Show producer Nicky Phillips will occasionally pop in to contribute to the discussion.

== IN THE SKY THIS WEEK ==
The last quarter Moon is Sunday May 17. Comet C/2008 Q3 Garrad has become unexpectedly and rapidly brighter. It can now be seen in the constellation of Pavo as a fuzzy dot in strong binoculars, not far from a really nice globular cluster. Saturn is visible the entire night and can be easily seen as the second brightest object above the northern horizon. The morning sky has the brightest planets with Jupiter being outshone by Venus. If you are an early morning riser with a small telescope, Jupiter's moons are readily visible and Venus is an obvious crescent. Mars is visible below Venus and they draw further apart during the week. On Sunday May 17 the waning Moon is not far from Jupiter, and you can use this as a signpost to see Jupiter in the daylight. On Thursday May 21 the crescent Moon, Venus and Mars make an attractive triangle in the morning sky.

Nonetheless, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices struggle to be heard in debates about water scarcity, carbon trading and the protection of our natural landscapes and wildlife.

ABC1, 7:30pm Sunday, 17 May 2009
Sir David Attenborough's encounter with mountain gorillas during the filming of Life On Earth (1978) is one of the greatest moments in television history. In this journey of re-discovery, Sir David recounts his personal experience with the mountain gorillas of Rwanda, and tells how conservationists like the late Dian Fossey have battled to save the mountain gorilla from the brink of extinction. This remarkable story reveals how these magnificent great apes have triumphed over adversity to become the conservation success they are today.
