Myristoylation is a co-translational lipid modification of proteins
in which a myristoyl group (a 14-carbon fatty acid) is covalently
attached to the amino terminus of eukaryotic and viral proteins.
This lipidic modification of proteins is catalyzed by the enzyme
N-myristoyltransferase (NMT). NMT2 is overexpressed in human
colorectal cancer compared with normal tissues, with maximal
expression in polyps. Human NMT2 has been shown to interact with
p53, caspase-3 and Bcl2.

INFLAMMATION: TAKING AIM IN THE CYTOPLASM
AIM2 (absent in melanoma 2) senses cytoplasmic DNA and associates
with the inflammasome, which leads to caspase 1 activation and the
generation of the mature cytokines that induce innate immune

In Drosophila, the Wingless (Wg) morphogen activates two
