Stem Cell Therapy of MS Requires IDO

Hello manoj kumar valluru,

Although the majority of studies looking at stem cell mediated immune modulation have been focused on mesenchymal stem cells, a recent paper describes suppression of the mouse model of MS through administration of hematopoietic stem cells, and demonstrated that therapeutic effect was associated with upregulation of indolamine 2,3 deoxygenase in the dendritic cells. 

Osiris continues to advance its patent portfolio, last week being issued patent # 7,491,388, which covers the use of fibroblasts for prevention of graft versus host disease. 

A stunning example of creativity was patent #7,491,534 which teaches how to generate T cells from fibroblasts !! and as if that was not enough, teaches how to select the T cells for specific T cell receptors so that they may be used in immunotherapy.  Very Very Interesting !
