View this message online Hello manoj kumar valluru, An interesting week in terms of new ways of stimulating hematopoietic stem cells.  Patent #7,442,390 issued covering the use of specific populations of mesenchymal-like cells for augmenting hematopoietic stem cell engraftment, whereas patent # 7,442,394 also issued, teaching the use of blueberries and other natural products in the development of a composition that activates "stem cells".  Yet again this week, Jamie Thomson was awarded another patent (#7,442,548), this time for an expansion of previous work, essentially showing that various supplements can be added to serum-free media to allow embryonic stem cell expansion without differentiation.
