Neuralstem Inc. is scheduled to begin trading on the American Stock
Exchange Aug. 27 under the ticker symbol "CUR."
The Rockville stem cell company went public on the over-the-counter
bulletin board (OTCBB: NRLS) in December.
In recent months, Neuralstem has hired its first CFO, added two board
members and raised more than $5 million in a private placement to
help fund its first clinical trial, which the company hopes to begin
sometime this year.
Neuralstem expects that its first drug tested in humans will be used
to treat Ischemic Spastic Paraplegia, a form of paraplegia.
In May, Neuroscience'
Neuralstem researchers who showed near-ambulatory movement in
paralyzed rats six weeks after receiving the company's stem cells.
"Moving to the Amex is the next logical step for Neuralstem," said
President and CEO Richard Garr, in a statement. "It is a result of
the continuous and significant progress the company has made in each
and every phase of its activity."
