The First Quarter Moon is Sunday April 13. The evening sky to the north is enlivened by Mars and Saturn. In the Northwest Mars is in Gemini and forms a triangle with the bright stars Castor and Pollux (the twins of Gemini). On Saturday April 12 the waxing Moon is close to Mars. Saturn can be seen near the bright star Regulus. This is still a good time to observe this ringed world in a small telescope. On Tuesday 15 April, the waxing Moon, Regulus and Saturn form a close triangle. In the eastern morning sky Venus can be seen low in the morning twilight.
