Local serviceman loses cancer battle

After a long fight with cancer, Marine Lance Cpl. Luke Yonkee of Erie died Thursday. He was 22. A few years ago, Lance Cpl. Yonkee was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of cancer of the lymphatic system. He received a stem-cell transplant in 2006, but the cancer returned.
