Offering credentialing courses throughout the Southern California
area, Vet-Stem, Inc. has trained over 75 board certified small animal
surgeons on the science and application of stem cells to treat
osteoarthritis. This fall, veterinarians across the United States
will soon be able to become credentialed users via online training at
the company's website http://www.vet-
Credentialed veterinarians in California, Denver, Colorado
Springs, and Chicago are currently the only approved users of Vet-
Stem Regenerative Cells in dogs. Vet-Stem has credentialed over 500
equine veterinarians in the last three years. Regenerative Stem Cells
are commercially approved to treat osteoarthritis, polyarthritis,
tendonitis, desmitis, and fractures.
Veterinarians collect a sample of the dog's own fat, that is then
processed in the laboratory where the regenerative cells are
isolated. These stem and regenerative cells are then administered
back to the dog. Basic science and clinical research in the area of
adipose-derived adult stem cell use in humans is ongoing with
hundreds scientific papers published since 2001.
Vet-Stem clinical research data demonstrates the efficacy of stem
and regenerative cell therapy in treating osteoarthritis in
dogs. "Our success in animals is directly translatable to humans and
we wish to share our evidence that stem cells are safe and
effective," says Robert J. Harman,
DVM, MPVM, CEO Vet-Stem, Inc.

About Vet-Stem, Inc.
Vet-Stem, Inc. was formed in 2002 to bring regenerative medicine
to the veterinary profession. This privately held company is working
to develop therapies in veterinary medicine that apply regenerative
technologies while utilizing the natural healing properties inherent
in all animals.
In January of 2004, Vet-Stem introduced the first veterinary stem
cell service in the United States. Since that time there has been
rapid adoption of this technology for treatment of tendon, ligament,
and joint injuries by the veterinary community. Studies have shown
that mesenchymal stem cells can dramatically improve the healing of
injuries and diseases that have had very few treatment options in the
past.
