Seoul Cord Blood Bank( www.seoulcord.co.kr) is the world ' s largest umbilical cord blood bank, accredited internationally in 2002.Seoul Cord Blood Bank, exclusively accredited by AsiaCORD in Korea, shares co-network with Asian cord blood banks (includes ones in China, Japan, and Taiwan) that have similar genetic characteristics with Korea. Seoul Cord Blood Bank is donated cord blood during delivery and cryopreserves after several strict standard tests. Seoul Cord Blood Bank operates a public bank and a private family bank. Public bank provides HLA-matching stem cells when transplant is required, and family bank stores cord blood for a chosen period of time in case of emergency for the baby and his/her family. Also with HLA assay of all cord blood units, we keep track of complete genetic information and reduce time spent and additional cost for detailed examination. As of October 2004, Seoul Cord Blood Bank stores 45,000 cord blood units in our state-of-the-art facility and is operated by internationally accredited technology and expertise with significant experience.
