One day in the near future we bet that people will start offering the service of making and banking your own iPS cells. ES International was awarded another patent, #7,504,257, teaching how to make neural progenitors from embryonic stem cells using FGF-2 and EGF. Jay Edelberg was awarded #7,504,379 covering new ways of protecting vascular endothelium by cytokine administration. Finally, # 7,507,766 from Spain was really interesting covering the use of a class of chemicals called aplidines for protection of muscles and muscle stem cells against chemotherapy. | | Patent Number: 7,504,257 This patent covers methods of generating neural progenitor cells from embryonic stem cells in vitro.
